It was awesome, but after a while, it felt gimmicky and unnatural. When I played Skyrim, I did it to that game too. I was intent on turning Fallout 3, New Vegas and Oblivion into completely different games. HUD changes, new animations, new weapons, you name it. When I started installing mods, I installed everything that appealed to me. Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and on a lesser note, GTA IV and The Sims 3.
I became interested in the mod community just over a decade ago.
